Our Services

What we offer

Individual Therapy

We offer individual therapy for children and adolescents ages 3 and up. While confidentiality and therapeutic rapport is vital, this nearly always includes parents in some capacity, particularly the younger the client is. We specialize in play therapy, which can include both directive and nondirective approaches, imaginative play, sandtray, metaphorical, creative play and more.

Group Offerings

We have varying group offerings for children and adolescents, including self esteem/anxiety, interrelational skills, and kids yoga. Please see our group offerings page for more details about upcoming groups.

Supervision

Lindsay Gayle, LMHC and Registered Play Therapist Supervisor offers individual and monthly group supervision for clinicians seeking their play therapy registration. Group supervision occurs monthly on Mondays at 6P in person and has limited spots. Upcoming group supervision dates: March 25, April 22, and May 20. Cost is $50 per session. This is a great way to obtain play therapy supervision at a lower cost and to learn from other clinicians. Contact Lindsay at LindsayGayle.LMHC@gmail.com with questions and to sign up!

Play Therapy Residency Program

Summer 2024, Circle City Counseling will expand with a play therapy residency program hiring post-graduate, pre-licensed mental health clinicians who can obtain both their clinical license and play therapy registration. The waitlist to work with these clinicians opens in May 2024. Please contact us for more details!

Play Therapy is defined by the Association of Play Therapy as “the systematic use of a theoretical model to establish an interpersonal process wherein trained Play Therapists use the therapeutic powers of play to help clients prevent or resolve psychosocial difficulties and achieve optimal growth and development."

Put more simply, play is a powerful tool to build rapport, engage the client and allow a natural means for processing and expression.

Our therapists have and are going through rigorous training and supervision to ensure they are providing the best care possible. These trainings include both directive and nondirective approaches that span Adlerian therapy, Theraplay, Child Centered Play Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and more. Please feel free to ask us any questions about play therapy!

Play Therapy

“Toys are used like words for children and play is their language.”
